The Revolutionary war

he  Revolutionary war was the  start of a new world power. America promised freedom, bringing in more immigrants, and money. Americans could now decide what to tax and have their own government.
The war was started when Americans had enough of the British king making them pay taxes for something they couldn't have any say in. They started some tension. Some of the British started to turn against them. Riots at first like the Boston tea party then it escalated with the boston massacre and soon a war

The American Revolutionary War was fought for eight long and deadly years taking about 620,000 american lives, from 1775 to 1783. One of these men happens  to be a soldier whose head got blown off by a cannonball. He later rose and became The Headless Horseman.
The war ended in a treaty that states,England’s control on taxes and laws would be finally over. The Americans wrote the Declaration of Independence, the 13 original colonies could make their own flags and laws. The colonies were  free and were creating what is now The United State Of America. The end of the war provided more insight on how the still young country of america would turn out and affect the world.

The Headless Horseman
The Headless Horseman is a fictional character from the short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by American author Washington Irving. The legend of the Headless Horseman begins in a town near North Tarrytown, New York named Sleepy Hollow.
The Horseman was supposedly a Hessian soldier of unknown rank; one of many such hired to suppress the American Revolutionary War. During the war, the Horseman was one of 548 Hessians killed in a battle for Chatterton Hill, where his head was severed by a  cannonball. He was buried in a graveyard outside an Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow. Since then he appears as a ghost, who presents to nightly travelers an actual danger (rather than the largely harmless fright produced by the majority of ghosts), looking as if he has no head. He carries his own head on his person or that of his horse and uses it as a weapon, though he also carries a sword.
In Sleepy Hollow, a Tim Burton film, the Horseman is seen to also be skilled with an axe. Which is why we never see Ichabod Crane ever again.Mythical creature guide

What is the revolutionary war?File:Trumbull 1.jpg
The Revolutionary war was a long and important war in America's history that won us this country. The war was between the American and British, and lasted about 8 years, from 1775-1783. There were multiple battles to this war, fought in multiple different places. Two battles were in Massachusetts, one was in Lexington, and one was in Virginia. The battle started mainly because of taxes. The British began to tax the Americans on many British goods such as tea. This upseted us because of the fact everything was free of tax until then.

In April of 1775 British soldiers and minute men both fired in Concord  Massachusetts, which was also known as the shot heard around the world. It signaled the start of the American Revolution and led to the creation of a new nation. One of the main causes of the Revolutionary War was taxes. The Americans hated being heavily taxed on many purchased items. This immediately began a boycott of British goods.

When war came upon us in 1775 it seemed clear that the British were going to win. They had a well organized army, they out-numbered the Americans by a vast amount, and their army consisted of many veterans who had fought in previous wars. The Americans had earlier learned guerilla war tactics proving effective in the war. The militiamen attacked quickly, normally behind cover, and were great at escaping. The militiamen wore normal everyday clothing, making it hard to distinguish the rebels from the loyalists. One of the most efficient ways of defeating the British was the participation of different people in different jobs such as ordinary farmers, artisans, or even shopkeepers.

The British had red coats, and were known as the lobster backs because of it. The British had an organized army and marched together into battle in straight rows. The British also had more people than the minute-men, or the Americans, but the Americans had stealth and quickness on their side. They wore normal everyday clothes to trick the British and make it much harder to distinguish who the minutemen were. The British had a much larger empire, hence the reason the Americans were under British rule.

The following timeline shows important events as the exact date it happened and a vague definition of the event
